Digambar Kumar: A Second Attempt, and a Front Office at a Resort in Andhra Pradesh
He failed his first attempt at the entrance exam. Trutiya Ratna told him not to give up — and paid for the second attempt himself.
Digambar Kumar comes from a small place in Jehanabad, Bihar — the same village and the same modest farming household as his brother Prithvi Raj. He studied in ordinary government schools, and after finishing college, he wasn’t sure what to do next.
That’s when Sunita Didi told him to go to Patna and prepare for competitive college entrance exams. He studied hard for six months — but his marks weren’t strong enough, and he failed.
“I felt very sad, but Sunita Didi and Prasanna Didi told me not to give up. They told me to join Nalanda Academy and said, ‘Do not worry about money. We will pay for everything.'”
He studied at Nalanda Academy for eight months and passed the exam on his second attempt. It earned him a place at the Central University of Andhra Pradesh, to study Travel and Tourism for three years. Trutiya Ratna bought him a phone and a laptop so he could study without interruption.
Today, Digambar works as a Front Office Supervisor at Trance Veechika Resort. “I want to say a big thank you to the Trutiya Ratna team,” he says, “and especially to Sunita Didi and Prasanna Didi, for helping me every step of the way.”
